Proposal

I am here to propose a template to make navigation for the Help/Policies/Rules/Guidelines easier. So I have made a couple things. I would love everyone to review before I implement them across the board. Note I use Containers as they appear on mobile, something I considered heavily as Help pages need to be helpful.

CIA's Updated Help:Contents page proposal

Here is a link to version 1 of my updated Help:Contents page. I propose this so everything is easier to navigate for users instead of them having to guess through trial and error in the Categories if they are there.

Proposed templates

These would be separated into separate templates so it can fill the Help Contents page. The separated templates could also go on every page where appropriate. So the About Page would get the Information Pages template, and so on. User:CIA391/Sandbox4/Test1

Halopedia Help Desk proposal

This template would use the separated templates above and be a hub template. And be a template made to go on every template. So instead of the Information Pages template being put onto the About page, this Template would instead. Pretty much this is an extreme version of what I propose above, where instead of one template showing 1 list of things, everything shows instead. I personally like both ideas. Hence why I am making this a vote. User:CIA391/Sandbox4/Test2

Keep is simple, sweetie. There is no need to transform what is already a good, straightforward page into a template-filled page (more so on mobile). For Help:Contents to be helpful, that page simply needs to be updated with all those links you've provided in those templates and need not be filled with templates.

I prefer keeping the templates separate when implementing in their respective pages. As for your current design, I recommend the following content be removed from the templates as they are not quite necessary:

  • "Social Media" under Site Locations - Simply unnecessary. If we do have one, just link it up to Project:Community.
  • "Representing Halopedia" under Miscellaneous - A community consensus is needed for an appointment of a user to represent Halopedia for a certain occasion (and being an administrator is not an entitlement to such an appointment).
  • "Staff Handbook" under General Information - the entire rules and policies should already provide the dos and don'ts for the administration. Simply having another page may lead to conflict between the rules and policies.

While we're on this point, kindly note that I'll be making some design changes to the template for which you based your templates above. I hope these design changes will be affected on your templates.

I do not agree with the help desk template as it is too big and looks cluttered (more so on mobile). — subtank 11:16, 23 August 2017 (EDT)
