Denton was a non-commissioned officer in the United Nations Space Command armed forces who was stationed on the UNSC Dark Was the Night when it was grounded on the Outer Colony of Losing Hand at the end of the Human-Covenant War. After a town meeting wherein both colonists and crew members of the ship struggled to determine what to do about an approaching Covenant Makar-pattern light corvette, Denton and another NCO, Wild, followed Sergeant Robertson to ask Captain Darren Leone whether he had a plan.[1]
