Parisa was John-117's childhood friend. She kept a picture of herself and John on a beach at Lake Gusev on Eridanus II, taken two weeks before Dr. Halsey abducted John, as a lucky charm. She believed John had died not very long after the picture was taken, when his flash clone would have died. She had stated that after John saved her life from walking out into the lake too far, he promised to marry her and keep her safe.[1] It seems that John-117 didn't keep that promise.
