The rank structure is seperate to that of command authority. Also, these numbers themselves have changed several times over the course of U.S. history. Due to the fact that Eric Nylund basically confirmed the rank structure being based upon the American system, the numbers are coming from the known American system.
The rank structure is seperate to that of command authority. Also, these numbers themselves have changed several times over the course of U.S. history. See Talk:Regiment for a more in depth discussion. -- Manticore
