| Over 100,000 years ago, Earth was known as 'Erde Tyrene'. The Humans which colonised Erde Tyrene were almost as technically advanced as the Forerunners and when the mysterious Flood parasite appeared in the galaxy, Forerunners took the chance to finally wipe out their dangerous human neighbors while they were vulnerable, stuggling to fend off the Flood. After this Human-Forerunner War, the last remaining humans were met by the Librarian and had memories of their ancient and more technically advanced ancestors implanted in to their minds. After this process the humans were left on Earth (Erde Tyrene) in a caveman-like state of being, and with their ancestor's memories they began to rebuild at a rapid pace to what they are in 2557.

| The closest planet to Erde Tyrene (Earth)that the ancient humans colonised was Charum Hakkor, now known as Mars, which also had Precursor technology abandoned on it.
