Ghost Town is a multiplayer map set in the same jungle as Sierra 117[1]. It is a 24th Century, run-down water treatment facility. Its main function was to take meltwater from Mount Kilimanjaro and purify it. It consists of two building surrounded by hills and trees. The inside of one building features rubble and vegetation that has grown in over years of desolation. The level has been described as a bridge between nature and failed human civilization.[2] It is reported to have many levels, open air catwalks with sights down to semi protected alleys where you can "rain death from above". These catwalks have entrances to the main building as well. Ghost Town will be featured as one of the maps in The Legendary Map Pack available this spring.

Extracted from an interview describing the location:

"Ghost Town is the fragmented ruins of a small 24th century water purification complex that geographically lies just North and West of the jungle foothills hydroelectric facility from the Sierra 117 mission. The well-protected facility built into a shallow ravine was once home to the Global Water Campaign, where the still somewhat-pure Kilimanjaro meltwater was transported via pipelines from the river and directed to this small outpost where it became further purified, and then transported via GWC trans-African pipelines along the Tsavo Highway for distribution throughout the entire continent."

Trivia

  • This map's codename was O.K. Corral (A reference to the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.)
  • Speculation was this map could have been a remake of Turf or Tombstone, considering the fact they both sport catwalks, alleys, and multiple levels.
  • It is set in the same jungle as the level Sierra 117.
