Halo 3 Catch Skull

This skull is in the level "The Storm". After the opening sequence, you have to battle through a building full of Covenant. After that building, you go into a large open area. The skull is in this area. You will encounter two Wraiths. One is a normal tank, and the other is an Anti-Aircraft Tank. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, destroy either tank. You can kill every other enemy on the map, but do not kill the tanks. if you do, the skull will disappear. I would suggest getting the sniper rifle, which is on top of the closest building, on the raised platform. Then snipe the gunners off of both tanks. This way they are not shooting at you as you try for the skull. The normal tank will still try to shoot you if it notices you.

The skull is on top of the circular building, next to where the Anti-Aircraft tank is. You can't jump up to the roof normally. You can get there several ways. One is to drive a Warthog up to the shortest side of the building, putting the front right up against it. You then need to get out, jump up to the top of the vehicle. You can do a normal jump if you squat near the top (Push Left Joystick), and push towards the building. The skull is in the center of the first circular roof platform. If you can't get a Warthog, then try to grenade-jump. (Look for another article on that technique) This accomplishes the same thing.

There are a few issues that I encountered. To begin with, I found out about this skull location, but it would never appear. I read that you needed to complete the entire game on Normal level before it would appear. It seems like there are several different versions of the game. Some people say that they didn't have to complete it in Normal, others say that they didn't. I have read that some killed one tank but not the other. I tried all of this and it would not work. I eventually played with a friend, online, in Co-Op. He finished the whole game in Legendary right off the bat. When I played with him, the skull was there, visible while I was standing on the ground near the Anti-Aircraft tank. I don't know what the difference was. Anyway, on that occasion, I was able to grenade jump to the roof and get the skull.

I just wanted to point this out because I have read different articles claiming different things about this skull. This is just how it worked for me.
