Crashing on Genesis
Where in the campaign does it say that Cortana and the Mantle's Approach actually crashed on Genesis? In the level "Reunion", Cortana says she found access to the Domain when she was pulled into slipspace, not when she "crashed on Genesis" (which I don't believe she ever mentions). I know the Chief speculates that the ship itself was pulled to Genesis, but that's all. Plus, if the ship went to Genesis, why do we see parts of the ship falling over Installation 03? :I was under the impression that the slipspace portal under Mantle's Approach in Halo 4 led to Installation 03, which is why the Didact ended up there. As for how Cortana got to Genesis, I agree and I don't see anything that implies that Mantle's Approach crashed on Genesis, aside from Chief's speculation. --<span style="color: #2B1AAA;">NightHammer</span><span style="color: #2B1AAA;">(talk)</span><span style="color: #2B1AAA;">(contribs)</span> 13:05, 20 March 2016 (EDT)
The portal that was transmitting the composed essences from New Phoenix transmitted them to Installation 03. The peices of the ship Black Team saw were those that went through the portal after the nuke went off. The majority of the ship (the "heart", as Catalog called it) jumped to Genesis.
Edit Needed
While in the Domain, Cortana came to the conclusion that the Mantle of Responsibility was meant to be claimed by herself and other artificial intelligences, not humanity, as the Forerunners had originally intended.
"as the Forerunners had"
should read:
"as the precursors had"
