To me, the Type-44 looks almost identical to the Phantom from Halo: Reach. Do you suppose it's possible that Halo:Reach featured Type-44 Phantoms rather than the Type-52? It would fit well with the fact that the Type-44 is an earlier variant SPARTAN-347 19:01, 30 October 2012 (EDT)

The post-game Carnage Report, the strategy guide, the Essential Visual Guide, and the revised Encyclopedia all state that the Phantom in Reach is the Type-52. Considering that the game is set in 2552, at the height of the Covenant's power, it makes sense that the most recent model appears in the game. --Courage never dies. 20:04, 30 October 2012 (EDT)
It seems to me that the T-44 was a mislabling or simply an uneducated decision made by 343, as it really doesn't look or act like a different type of Phantom. Yet, it's canon. There's nothing we can do about it :/ --File:PENGUIN4.gifFluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 16:33, 6 December 2012 (EST)
