Talk:Rank (Halo: Reach)

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

What the hell? You buy ranks? O.o Matt 2108 00:13, September 12, 2010 (UTC)

No, you rank up whenever you earn the given number of credits shown. And please avoid using informal language and smileys on talk pages. Mmm... Jackal Stew 14:19, September 12, 2010 (UTC)

Name

It seems pretty informative to me. Do you have a better one? -Relick 08:13, 7 November 2010 (EST)

Inheritor

How the hell do you get 20 million credits??!?!?!?!?

With a lot of patience and time. It's not meant to be done in two months flat. "And please avoid using informal language and smileys on talk pages." -Relick 08:13, 7 November 2010 (EST)

Rank Origins

As far as I can tell, from Recruit to General Grade 4 are Human ranks, Field Marshall is a Covenant rank and all the others are just "other" ranks. Can someone correct me if I am wrong? Is Field Marshall maybe classed as part of the "other" or Human? - Relick 03:34, 2 December 2010 (EST)

You are correct. Field Marshall is only known as a Covenant rank in Reach, though IRL there is such a military rank. DatrDeletr 07:52, 2 December 2010

why did we erase the link to highest player

Cheater

Okay guys, you know that profile we have linked on the page.Well I was just doing some math and I was curious what the highest amount of credits you could have which is 5 688 000.His total ammount of credits is 6 633 837. That is 945 837 credits over the maximum.Do the math your self.Withere this guy cheated or there is a glitch in the syestem.Jamesgg521 23:50, 21 December 2010 (EST)

Should we keep the link and trivia about the highest global rank or no?#@lof@n1234 22:59, 13 February 2011 (EST)

Nah, I don't think we should, Rank in Reach is just a measure of time spent playing, doesn't really prove anything. There's no real reason to give this guy special recognition. Alex T Snow 01:16, 14 February 2011 (EST)

offline level cap

if you dont have online what so ever, how would a offline player get past the old level cap of lt colonel?

There is no rank cap offline, nor any cR cap from what i've experienced so far. Solokiller 13:35, 3 January 2011 (EST)

So im planning to buy xbox live soon and ive never had it before,if my rank is captain grade 1 right now how many ranks am i gonna lose as soon as u join xboz live???

Most likely not... and do sign your post... But Im still rather confused. Do offline players get past the old level cap (Colonel)? S331 01:46, 18 January 2011 (EST)

Yes, they did get past Lt. Colonel Grade 3 before the cap was lifted. No daily credit cap either.--One who survived 13:17, 3 February 2011 (EST)

Thanks, so if I don't have XBox Live, I CAN still get to the Inheritor rank, and more than 120,000 (the daily cR cap according to the article) cR per day? Just making sure there isn't any communication mistakes... S331 20:22, 5 February 2011 (EST)

Deleted Trivia

  • The Commander Grade 3 rank insignia lacks the two grade bars in-game.
  • There are a total of 50 ranks available in Halo: Reach. The first is Recruit and the last rank is Inheritor. The 7 symbol ranks (44 - 50) reference the 7 symbols ranks of Halo 2 (44-50).

Is that not worth mentioning on the article anymore? -TheLostJedi 16:40, 19 February 2011 (EST)

Hmm, not the 50 ranks bit, but the Commander: Grade 3 bit should still be there. Alex T Snow 05:11, 20 February 2011 (EST)

is it true that after captin your match bonus gets increased?173.72.176.134 00:03, 30 March 2011 (EDT)

armor

it says on the page that if i were to play offline and rank up that i'd lose some ranks and credits when i go back online, would i also lose armor parts that i bought with those credits too?--98.18.67.101 02:48, 1 May 2011 (EDT)

That's worrying to me. I don't have LIVE yet and I worked hard for those credits and Ranks. --Felix-119 04:37, 1 May 2011 (EDT)

And does anyone know if you lose armor that you have unlocked and bought when you go down a rank? And if bungie are going to see to the issue? --Felix-119 11:48, 2 May 2011 (EDT)
