It's after midnight on the 27th where I am. Can I start uploading changes related to Epitaph now???

The reason that guy keeps editing the Epitaph page is probably because, like me, he found a copy of the book early. However, rather than impatiently editing that page, I created a Sandbox to work on it. I've got the Appearances section pretty well fleshed out at least so that'll be ready for posting once the 27th hits.

A little while ago I was just browsing through my local Barnes and Noble and much to my SHOCK there was a copy of Halo: Epitaph on the shelf!!!🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 Not even their WEBSITE says that they have that yet!!! But just from a light skimming it looks like a satisfying conclusion to the Didact's story. It also seems to wrap up some loose ends from Halos 5 and Infinite like the Warden Eternal. I've been wondering what became of him in all of this mess!!!

Yeah, I found that out from the Roland page awhile after I asked you about it and adjusted my work accordingly.

We have Template:Ref/SpOps for Spartan Ops stuff. It's a little more fleshed out

We don't have an acronym for Spartan Ops do we???

Yeah, I think I just copied and pasted too much from the Argie and Oriel pages (some of my OTHER work by the way) when I created the remote aspect page. I remember reading that book and how Intrepid Eye had all of those resources and remote aspects and wondering how they could ever hope to truly beat her. But they did. I also remember reading the Kilo-Five Trilogy and not understanding why they hadn't wrapped up Jul 'Mdama's story since there weren't any future games planned and I wasn't sure about any more books coming out.

Hey, is it just me, or do they seem to be basically eliminating all of the existing enemies to make way for the Banished these days??? Jul 'Mdama is dead, Cortana is gone. In the latest books, they've gotten rid of Intrepid Eye and Nizat, two of the major recurring enemies in the book series. And now this newest book is supposed to be the Didact's final chapter too.

No worries - the revert was alright and made sense. The initial removal was mostly just as it seemed like the page was turning more into an intrepid eye biography, and was losing its focus on the remote aspects specifically. It's looking pretty good now!

Also, I didn't intend to revert your edits to the Remote Aspect page, that was an accident: I was editing using an old version of the page after you made your edits so when I published my edits, I inadvertently overrode what you did. I did add a bit more to it, but left it mostly cut down like you had it. I added a basic summary of Intrepid Eye's use in during the bioweapon plot, restored the part about her blackmailing Craddog into allowing her communication with aspects and the summaries about the destruction of them (which is important) and the Ferrets discussion of the possibility of Intrepid Eye leaving one behind when they were preparing to destroy her. That last one might need some cutting down, but I think that it should remain in some form since the possibility of her creating another one was discussed.

Sorry. Some of that is me fixing the citations to the correct standards which requires me digging out my copies of those books and finding the right places. I have a HUGE collection of books, it took awhile to find the right ones. I'm done now I think. I was mainly working on creating a page for the remote aspects of Intrepid Eye, something that I had intended to do a LONG time ago. I was also trying to fix some of my own mistakes in the past with improper citations in the process.

As a reminder, please use chapters when citing novels. If you are having difficulties using the reference system or understanding how/why we do things the way we do, we are more than happy to help - however, until such a time I can only assume that you are wilfully ignoring multiple repeated requests to do things properly.

Hi, I am once again asking for you to properly cite the novels in which you're drawing information from. Simply citing the novel is not enough. We're not asking for detailed page citations - just a simple chapter number - I don't believe this is an unreasonable request. After discussing this some with the other staff who are in agreement, if you are going to keep insisting on not citing things, you may be blocked from editing. You've been asked several times now.

Thanks.

Hey, is it just me, or does it seem like the Halo writers recently are concluding the stories of the major enemies that have been built up over the years in favor of focusing solely on the Created and the Banished as the main bad guys of the series now??? I mean first there was Jul 'Mdama. To be fair, I never understood why they created him in the first place since Jul was created at a time when there were no plans to make future games. Then, most recently, Intrepid Eye was FINALLY destroyed, and the Keepers of the One Freedom have been effectively neutralized as a threat, including Castor. Now Nizat is finally dead too, although we still don't know what the hell happened to his plot to destroy ONI. I mean it obviously failed, but a mention of what happened would've been nice. And then the upcoming book is supposed to wrap up the Didact's story too.

Apologies, the post formatting messed up a bit there; the quoted text was meant to be in italics.

So I'm only skimming through the ebook right now, as I've yet to properly read it myself, but immediately I'm finding these quotes from a cursory scan;

Judging by her appearance, it seemed likely that this woman—Amalea Petrov —had indeed been marooned since the only recorded surface battle on N’ba, early in the war. That meant she had spent more than thirty years here, by her own UNSC calendar, and probably had no idea what had been happening in the rest of the Orion Arm. (Chapter 7)

What he found surprising, he realized, was that more than thirty human years after the original battle here on N’ba, there were still survivors on both sides—and they were still very much fighting as if the war raged on. (Chapter 9)

The 30-year conflict doesn't necessarily need a name; if it did I'd simply term it the "Netherop conflict" or something such. More likely, I'd just make it a sub-section on the planet's history article. As for the mission in outcasts, the Battle of Netherop (2559) would probably suffice.

How should we cite the war that raged on Netherop for 33 years between Nizat's forces and Petrov's??? I mean what should we call that event??? And the mission that occurred in Outcasts too since that was a bit of a battle in its own right.

You can cite multiple chapters for multiple points; citing a whole novel is near-useless for anyone who's coming to the page later on looking to find out where a certain piece of information was gathered.

I know, but with Nizat that was more of a broad overview of what we learned of the events of those 33 years throughout the whole novel rather than it being in one place that's easy to pin down.

Hi, when editing please remember to cite chapters properly. Simply citing a whole novel isn't adequate enough for use as a valid source. Thank you.

Hey what time tomorrow are we going to be allowed to start changing the Halo Outcast page and the pages related to it???

Hey, as a reminder, the wiki now uses chapter citations for novels, rather than individual pages. When updating citations, it'd be awesome if you were able to try and also update that aspect too. Thanks!

Kwan's name is Kwan Ha not Kwan Ah: it's on the Master Chief's HUD when he gets the Article 72 order.
