Point Defence Cannons are used for destroying enemy fighters such as Banshees and Seraphs and are mounted on all UNSC warships execpt Prowlers

- That when the Pillar of Autum crashed on Instalation 01 a pelican picked up two 50mm Point Defence Cannons and installed them at Alpha Base later on the second attack of Alpha Base the turrets destroyed 1 spirit dropship therefore killing 1/6 of the covenet strike force
