A conversion pod was a type of Forerunner power system.

History[edit]

Sometime after October 2558, Lethbridge Industrial ran tests on conversion pods in a remote orbital research station in an attempt to understand the inner workings of the device, but to no avail. When the Created, a rogue faction of AIs led by Cortana, infiltrated the facility and recruited the AIs stationed there, they too desired to unlock the secrets hidden inside, and attempted to breach one of the conversion pods, unleashing forces too powerful for their containment shielding to restrain. The energy destroyed the facility, and what remained crashed on the desolate planet below.[1]
