The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) is an organization that assigns age and content ratings to video games in the United States and Canada. The organization was established in 1994 by the Entertainment Software Association in response to the concerns of politicians and parents about children having access to violent video games. The ESRB independently enforces ratings, advertising guidelines, and online privacy principles adopted by the industry. All the games in the Halo series have had either a Teen (T) or Mature (M) rating:
- Halo: Combat Evolved – Mature (M) for Blood, Gore, and Violence
- Halo 2 – Mature (M) for Blood and Gore, Language, Violence
- Halo 3 – Mature (M) for Blood and Gore, Mild Language, and Violence
- Halo Wars – Teen (T) for Mild Blood, Mild Language, and Violence
- Halo 3: ODST – Mature (M) for Blood, Language, and Violence
- Halo: Reach – Mature (M) for Blood and Violence
- Halo 4 – Mature (M) for Blood and Violence
- Halo: Spartan Assault – Teen (T) for Blood and Violence
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection – Mature (M) for Blood and Gore, Language, Violence
- Halo: Spartan Strike – Teen (T) for Blood and Violence[1]
- Halo 5: Guardians – Teen (T) for Blood, Mild Language, and Violence[2]
