The Faking Brutes glitch is a character animation error found in Halo 2. The glitch causes the corpses of some Brutes to blink their eyes after being moved.
This glitch only occurs on Halo 2.

Walkthrough
Sometimes on the Sacred Icon (Level) on Heroic difficulty, where you fight an Enforcer there will be a body of a Brute close to the plug locks. When you deactivate the containment shield and the platform you are on begins to move, look at the Brute's eyes. They will occasionally blink.
Sacred Icon
Sometimes, when playing Sacred Icon on Heroic, you may find a Brute's corpse near the plug locks, in the area where you fight an Enforcer. When you deactivate the containment shield and the platform you are on begins to move, look at the Brute's eyes. They will occasionally blink.

Sputnik/Melee
This is only one of the numerous times a body can seem "alive". If you have acquired the Sputnik Skull and can find a body that blinks (namely Brutes), melee the body and look closely at the eyes. It is speculated that the game engine believes it is still alive, making the lifeless body blink. By moving it so violently with a Sputnik/Melee attack, you can activate this glitch.
If you have acquired the Sputnik Skull and can find a body that blinks (namely Brutes), melee the body and look closely at the eyes. The resulting movement may cause the body to blink.

Glitches
It may also be another programming error.
