The only know Covenant [[AI]] is the [[Unnamed Covenant AI]] that was encountered by [[Cortana]] on the Covenant Flagship know as [[Ascendant Justice]]. While very little is known about it, it can be assumed that it is created in very much the same way as a UNSC smart AI, by mapping the neurological pathways of the brain and recreating its basic structure in the programming. We can assume this as it is carries many of the personality traits of a [[Sangheili]] or other devout Covenant species. We see this as it calls Cortana's enhancing of Covenant systems as "heresy". | |||

It is questionable as to where the Covenant found the technology to create an artificial intellegence. As the Covenant consider anything created by Humans and UNSC heresy, it is highly unlikely that the technology was stolen. The Prophets do dissect [[Forerunner]] technology to gain knowledge of the Forerunners, but it is unlikely that they would dissect a Forerunner AI. The only known forerunner AI's are the [[Oracle]]s or [[Monitor]]s of the Halo installations. Because of this, it is nothing more than speculation as to where their AI's actually come from. | |||
