Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit such-and-such, change such-and-such, add such-and-such, create such-and-such, or delete such-and-such?

Yes! This is a wiki. By all means, do what you want. If we didn't want you editing/creating documents, we wouldn't give everyone the ability to do so, would we?! If you've done something wrong, we'll let you know. In this community, it's better to ask forgiveness later than permission now. All we ask is that in doing so you follow the guidelines and to be kind.

How do I add an image here on Halopedia?

You can add an image very easily just follow these instructions

How do I create a page here on Halopedia?

When you edit a page, you can add "" and "" around a word to make it an internal link (a link to a Halopedia article). If there is no page that exists with that name, the link will be red and you can write the page. It is good to use the search bar first to make sure that there isn't already a page with a similar name.

I have a great idea for a vehicle/weapon/character, can I add it to Halopedia?

No. Halopedia should only contain information that is Bungie canon. Perhaps you would like to write a story using your ideas and submit it to a site that accepts fanfiction, such as Fanfiction.Net.

I want to share some of the glitches I know. How do I get them on the list?

Give a name to these glitches or use a common one, and add links to the list. See "creating pages" above. Then write articles about the glitches. You might want to check through the list to make sure there isn't already mention of such glitches under an unfamiliar name.

How do you get the pictures on the site?

First have the image saved on your computer. Click "Upload file" on the menu box on the side of the screen. Click "Browse" to locate the image file on your disk, and then write a description of the image. Note that the description is for visitors, not staff. Check the boxes if you want, and click the submit button. You can then use this code to place the image in an article: To make it appear a certain size, insert "|150px" after ".jpg" to make it 150 pixels wide. To move it to the right side of the screen, add "|right" after that.
