Hi! I'm beginning to look into some cleanup work based on the new Halo Encyclopedia, and I had a few thoughts I was hoping I could get some feedback on. Hope that's ok!

#As far as the human drop pods are concerned, was the M7650 drop pod mentioned as being an older and less-beloved model intended at all to represent the escape pod/drop pod design seen aboard Forward Unto Dawn in Halo 4 and used by Spirit of Fire ODSTs in Halo Wars 2? Unfortunately, the description in the book lacks enough information to be able to tell if this was intended to represent such a vehicle, or is simply a new background hiterto-unpictured variant of drop pod.

#In looking to begin reworking our (badly-outdated) UNSC military organisational structures, I've once again found myself drawn back to the United Nations Space Command armed forces article. Is there much you can say as to whether 343 considers the UNSC and the UNSC Armed Forces as two distinct organisations? My initial thoughts would be that the UN Space Command as a whole refers to plenty of functions outside of the military; the UNSC Department of Commercial Shipping, UNSC Astronavigation and UNSC Astrophysics are three such examples which seem like they likely wouldn't need to fall directly into the military's command structure. In this case, the UNSC Armed Forces is the overall grouping of the service branches (Navy, Marine Corps, etc) while alongside that you have the various services such as scientific and logistical stuff. However, it's difficult to tell how often the capitalisation of terms such as UNSC's Armed Forces is done with the intent to create a proper noun, and how much is simply the writer(s) in question making an error (and furthermore, even finding explicit references to the Armed Forces is a fairly difficult task, indicating to me that it's not an entirely distinct organisation from the UNSC itself).

#Related to the above, should much weight be given to the terms "Defense/Expeditionary Force", as commonly depicted in the older Halo games? It seems like these terms would map well to recent media's discussion of expeditionary and garrison units in the Navy/Air Force or the difference of commands depending on Marine deployments - but the lack of particular use of these terms (and in the case of EF, not being carried over into Halo 2: Anniversary) would indicate to me that these terms are likely just decals without a particular meaning as far as organisation goes.
