An Operation is a planned military offensive conducted by UNSC forces, generally against a specific enemy objective or group of objectives. Operations can be large scale battles or small, covert insertions. Operations receive unique code words to distinguish themselves from other actions without giving away sensitive information should discussion of them be intercepted by enemy forces.
Known UNSC Operations
- Operation: HYPODERMIC (dates unknown), a mysterious and secret ONI project that has been in progress since at least 2531.
- Operation: FIRST STRIKE (2552), a five Spartan offensive against the Covenant battle station Unyielding Heirophant.
- Operation: TREBUCHET (2513), a UNSC attack on the Eridanus Rebels.
