They are considered to be a delicacy among the Grunt population. The translation "Zap-Jellie" and the comparison or their apperence to High Charity may mean that this creature is similar to the Medusa cnidarians (jellyfish) that are indigenous to Earth.
They are apparently a predatory species.[1]
