A SPARTAN-IV wearing the Rogue armor.

Template:Article Quote The MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/Rogue is a variant of the MJOLNIR Mark VI armor[1] and MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor (GEN2).[2] It is intended primarily for use in solo operations, particularly those that take place over extended periods of time.

Development and History

GEN1

The Mark VI(A) MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor armor was one of many "privatized" variants, developed as the UNSC called upon private industries to manufacture classified war material after the fall of the Outer Colonies.[1] The Mark VI(A) in particular was created and manufactured by the Vestol Corporation, then subsequently tested at the Vestol Simulation Lab. The 'Rogue' Armor saw limited use during the Human-Covenant War, despite reports indicating its exceptional performance. Designed for lone operators, the Mark VI(A) provided enhanced network connectivity and sequentially delineated intelligence packs; critical for soldiers operating in the field alone. [3]

GEN2

After Tribute was razed in 2552, Hannibal Weapon Systems took over production of the armor in 2555. It was tested at Kotka, Pori on New Carthage.[4]

Characteristics

Unlock: Unlock the Spartan Officer achievement, only obtainable through online multiplayer.
The helmet has one small visor that resembles a pair of sunglasses, rather than the typical MJOLNIR visor. The mouth-guard appears longer and thicker with an added "hole" in the center of the mouthpiece, it seems that it is actually part of the helmet rather then an add-on otherwise it wouldn't be classified as a separate variant. The top of the helmet, which has been mistaken for the "stealth" helmet, is much more rounded as well. The mouth guard rounds, shapes, and cups into a circular black piece in front of the mouth that forms the aforementioned "hole".

Production notes

The armor uses the Stability armor mod, which allows a players to increase their aiming ability when being fired upon.[2] The armor has a variant called Rogue FOCUS (FCUS), which is unlocked in the order Torso, Shoulders, and Helmet from ranks Rogue-7 to Rogue-9.

Trivia

  • The Rogue and Hayabusa armors are the only Halo 3 Armor Permutations that did not return in Halo: Reach, although the EOD helmet with the UA/HUL attachment does bear a resemblance to the Rogue helmet.
  • Sometimes a glitch will occur when attempting to unlock the Helmet. If the player reaches their Highest Skill then they will skip over the rank of which they earn it at. The player will be able to unlock once they are ranked up again.
