The CH252 Helmet is the standard issue helmet worn by the members of the UNSC Marine Corps and an integral component of the Marine Battle Dress Uniform. The same helmet, sometimes equipped with a polarized visor that covers the face, is worn by the officers of the New Mombasa Police Department.
The standard helmet weighs about 3.3 pounds,[1] and is painted olive to match the standard issue UNSC Marine body armor. This version can be fitted with ballistic goggles, in either orange or black, although the latter appears to be most most commonly found on sergeants or squad leaders.

What appears to be an earlier version of the helmet is used by the Marines stationed at the UNSC Pillar of Autumn around september 2552, and an even earlier verison is seen used by the Marines stationed on the UNSC Spirit of Fire in 2531. The current version of the helmet saw mainstay use in late 2552.
