Dropship

A dropship is a ship of small proportions that ferries troops into combat. The primary definition of a dropship is a military craft that can deliver troops from space to the surface of a planet, but dropships also serve as utility craft, ferrying troops between combat zones on planets. "Dropship" may refer to the following:
In the Covenant:
- Type-25 "Spirit" Troop Carrier- The fork-shaped dropships observed in Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo Wars and Halo: Reach.
- Type-52 "Phantom" Troop Carrier- The deep space dropships seen in Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.
In the UNSC:
- Pelican-class Dropships- The primary UNSC dropship.
- Dropship 77-Troop Carrier - The standard Pelican dropship.
- Dropship-77 Heavy Troop Carrier/Infantry Pelican - A more recent model of the Pelican.
- D77C-NMPD Pelican Dropship - A law enforcement variant of the Pelican.
- Albatross-class Dropships- A rarer and larger dropship.
- Pod - A heavy dropship used for transporting structures to the ground.
- UH-144 Falcon - A multipurpose transport vehicle.
