Cairo Station (Platform)

Cairo Station is an Orbital Super MAC Cannon. Located above the city Cairo on Earth, it is one of humanity's last defences against the Covenant. It came under attack on October 2552, and, along with Earth, is still alive and functional. However, it is still heavily damaged from the botched Covenant assault, as seen in the final cutscene of The Great Journey, when Master Chief returns to Earth aboard the Forerunner Ship.

Twenty orbital Super-MAC Cannons were used to defend the planet Reach from Covenant invasion, but they soon fell as the Covenant destroyed the underground generators that powered them. The planet Earth had 16, but production was stepped up quickly after Halo: The Fall of Reach, bringing the total up to 300. Some of the more famed Super MAC Orbital Stations above Earth are:
