Michael Stanforth

Admiral Michael Stanforth was the FLEETCOM Sector Three Commanding Officer. Sector three includes Sigma Octanus IV. He was also the commanding officer of the Marathon-class cruiser UNSC Leviathan. SERVICE NUMBER: 00834-19223-HS

As of 2517 he was a Rear Admiral and head of section three of UNSC Military Intelligence division. At that time he refused to allow Dr. Catherine Halsey to use the Han on her study for the Spartan candidates unless she had a military escort. Halsey chose then Lieutenant (J.G.) Keyes for the assignment. His constant work in space caused him to develop a strange lope to his walk, what soldiers call "Space walk."

He was the Admiral who initially briefed the Spartan soldiers on the Covenant in 2525, the first time they were ever given information on the species. Stanforth's briefing included diagrams of Grunts and Jackals, as well as information on the Battle of Harvest.

Stanforth led the UNSC navy in the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV.

He was a friend to Captain Keyes, and enjoyed whiskey as well as Sweet William Cigars. He was also the officer that promoted Keyes from Commander to Captain.

He was on Reach when it fell. Stanforth was lucky to be in the region that was not destroyed by the Covenant. SPARTAN-117 rescued him along with several other SPARTANS. He and lieutenant Haverson sacrificed themself by blowing up the Ascendant-Justice, and with it the entire Covenant fleet that was supposed to attack Earth. Hereby saving the entire planet.
