Template:Planet

Meridian was a human colony planet.[1] The city of Angoulême was located on the planet.[2]

History

The Office of Naval Intelligence's Section Three had facilities on the planet, to which several SPARTAN-II augmentation chemical precursors were sent without Doctor Catherine Halsey's consent, likely in order to be researched for Project CHRYSANTHEMUM. Meridian was home to many Chalybs Defense Solutions facilities, before they were abandoned sometime after the Fall of Reach.[3] The planet was attacked sometime during the Human-Covenant War by the Covenant, however the UNSC Defense Force was successful in fighting them off. Although typically uncharacteristic of the Covenant, Covenant forces later returned to Meridian and glassed the planet.[1]

The Office of Naval Intelligence apparently researched Forerunner artifacts on Meridian prior to its glassing.[4]
