When Keyes meets Jeffries he comments at how the Petty Officer looks but Jeffries let's it slide off with the remark doesn't have to drop solders off in hot zones. Jeffries suprises Keyes with the way he drives the Pelican with skill. Keyes request that Jeffries be transfered to UNSC Light Frigate,UNSC Midsummer Night. After being trsnsfered to Midsummer Night it was raiding a civilian carrier Finnegan's_Wake for navigation data. Jeffries was sent with Keyes_(disambiguation) and ODST platoon commander Canfield, with a group of ODST.
