The Pattern-2 Composite Sword,[1] more commonly known as the machete, was a melee weapon that was originally planned to be included in Halo: Combat Evolved. It was deleted before the final game was released; the final product has no dedicated UNSC melee weapons, but allows the player to perform a pistol whip or buttstroke using their current weapon.
