'''Brume-sur-Mer''' was a coastal [[human]] village on the [[Outer Colonies|Outer Colony]] of [[Meridian]]. It was close to the city of [[Port Moyne]]. The town was managed by the [[artificial intelligence]] [[Salome]],{{Ref/Reuse|HBBC1}} and powered by a [[fusion reactor]].{{Ref/Novel|Id=HBBC2|BatB|Chapter=2}} Many of the houses in the town were constructed to look like old French chateaus from [[Earth]], though as of [[2548]], many fell into disrepair.{{Ref/Reuse|HBBC1}}

A highway ran through the town. On one side of this highway was a beach with a motel, owned by the family of [[Victor Gallardo]]; while the opposite side was a neighborhood of houses, where [[Evie Rousseau]] lived. Near the town was a forest, protected from development and home to [[Sardans cat]]s.{{Ref/Reuse|HBBC1}}

Snaking beneath the town was an old bomb shelter that had entrances near the center of town, and one main entrance elsewhere. Officially, it was constructed at the start of the Covenant war to protect rich tourists from a potential attack. However, rumors suggested it was older; an old [[Sundered Legion]] hideaway from the days of the [[Insurrection]].{{Ref/Reuse|HBBC1}} A nearby Sundered Legion hanger contained a still-functional [[Prowler]] that helped save 70% of Brume-sur-Mer's population.

The town had a old bomb shelter that according to the official story was built at the start of the [[Human-Covenant War]] so rich tourists would be protected in the case of an attack, but rumors existed that it was older than that where it was used during the [[Insurrection]] by the [[rebel]]s of the [[Sundered Legion]].{{Ref/Reuse|HBBC1}}

In [[2548]] a concert was played at the old bomb shelter the city. The concert was interrupted by a power failure before restarting again.{{Ref/Reuse|HBBC1}}

===Human-Covenant war===

In [[2548]], the Covenant besieged Meridian, and Brume-sur-Mer was among the settlements attacked during the prolonged engagement. However, some of Brume-sur-Mer's population managed to escape the planet, and were collected by the {{UNSCShip|Sparrow}}. A memorial was subsequently held for those unable to escape. Brume-sur-Mer was presumably glassed along with the rest of the planet as the battle continued to drag out.
