Onyx Conflict

Template:Triple battle infoboxThe Battle of Onyx was a heavy, prolonged military engagement between the Forerunner Sentinels, United Nations Space Command, and the Covenant.

Overview

The Sentinels previously engaged with the two fleets were destroyed by Covenant forces before Admiral Pattersons fleet arrived but only the actions of the spartan "Blue" Team kept more sentinals from being produced. The battle was resolved after the military actions of Admiral Patterson lured the covenant into a nuclear minefield therebye destroying a section of the Covenant armada. Afterward aproximatly 32 covenant warships under the command of Fleet Master Voro 'Mantakreev jumped in system and blew apart the remaining 8 UNSC ships.

The covenant won the planet and sent the majority of their ground forces after "Blue" team to Onyx's "core", where a miniature slipspace rift led to another dimension outside of space and time. It was here the Forerunners where going to seek shelter while the universe was purged of life. The majority of Blue Team was sealed inside but the commander of the group Spartan 051-Kurt stayed behind to detonate 2 Fenris nuclear warheads to destroy the Covenant forces.
