Farkas Lake was a lake on the planet Reach at Eposz. It was the location of the Sabre Program Launch/Research Range, a facility used in the clandestine Sabre program, which developed the eponymous starfighter. During the Fall of Reach on August 14^th, 2552, SPARTAN Noble Team was deployed on the shore of the lake and advanced to the facility to initiate Operation: UPPER CUT.^[1]

"Farkas" is Hungarian for "wolf" and is also a common Hungarian surname. It may be a reference to SPARTAN-B312, who was described as a "lone wolf."
