Template:Human Character Infobox Elias Haverson was a Lieutenant[1] of the UNSC Office of Naval Intelligence.

Background

Wreckage of Halo

Haverson was the ONI officer attached to the Pillar of Autumn. When that vessel crashed on Installation 04, Haverson was present and managed to survive until the destruction of Alpha Halo, when he fled in a Pelican with Petty Officer Second Class Polaski, Staff Sergeant Avery J. Johnson, and Corporal Locklear. They hid in the debris field of the Halo until they made contact with Cortana and the Master Chief. As soon as they met on the Longsword, he recognized the Spartan.

Reach

The Pelican and Longsword were not capable of a Slipspace jump, so the group managed to capture the Covenant ship Ascendant Justice and Haverson gave tactical command to the Chief, despite his superior rank. They then were forced to travel to Reach because the Cole Protocol prevented them from heading back into UNSC territory with a captured Covenant ship.

Haverson traveled with them to the surface of Reach, where the Chief rounded up the survivng Spartans. Haverson also accompanied Vice Admiral Whitcomb's team to Eridanus Secundus to talk with Governor Jacob Jiles of the Eridanus Rebels.

Death

Haverson's death came when he and Admiral Whitcomb took the wounded Flagship and crashed it into the Unyielding Hierophant. This attracted the five hundred other ships and they all loomed closer. The Chief then returned to the UNSC Gettysburg, after crippling the reactors of the Unyielding Hierophant. It exploded, killing the Admiral and Haverson and destroying over five hundred Covenant ships. The sacrifice of Haverson and Whitcomb delayed the First Battle of Earth.

Trivia

  • He had short cropped red hair and was hesitant on many matters and situations. Admiral Whitcomb had once commented that he wouldn't like to have him as a leader because of this.
