Installation 01, also known as Beta Halo, is one of the seven Halo installations. The ring's landscape is comprised of a large desert with a limited atmosphere. It is the farthest Halo from Installation 00.[1]
Background
Activation
During the Battle of Installation 05 on November 3, 2552, a signal was sent to this Halo from Installation 05, putting it on standby mode. A readout from Installation 05's control room showed that Installation 01 was fully prepared to fire on demand.[2]
Deactivation
During the Battle of Installation 00 later the same year, Installation 01 was still in standby mode and was prepared to receive the signal to fire. However, SPARTAN John-117 deactivated the installation, as well as the rest of the array, before it could be fired.[3]
