The Sentinels previously engaged with the two fleets were destroyed by Covenant forces before Admiral Pattersons fleet arrived but only the actions of the spartan "Blue" Team kept more sentinals from being produced. The battle was resolved after the military actions of Admiral Patterson lured the covenant into a nuclear minefield therebye destroying a section of the Covenant armada. Afterward aproximatly 32 covenant warships under the command of Fleet Master Voro 'Mantakreev jumped in system and blew apart the remaining 8 UNSC ships. | |||

The Battle of Onyx was a heavy, prolonged military engagement between the Forerunner Sentinels, United Nations Space Command, and the Covenant.
Overview
The Sentinels previously engaged with the two fleets were destroyed by Covenant forces before Admiral Pattersons fleet arrived but only the actions of the spartan "Blue" Team kept more sentinals from being produced. The battle was resolved after the military actions of Admiral Patterson lured the covenant into a nuclear minefield therebye destroying a section of the Covenant armada. Afterward aproximatly 32 covenant warships under the command of Fleet Master Voro 'Mantakreev jumped in system and blew apart the remaining 8 UNSC ships.
