Dural 'Mdama is the eldest son of [[Raia 'Mdama|Raia]] and [[Jul 'Mdama]]. At some point he became aware who his father was, even though Sangheili custom dictates the youth are solely judged on their own abilities and not by their heritage. He and his brother [[Asum]] lived in the [[State of Mdama]] and were taught [[martial arts|combat skills]] by [[Naxan]] in their home at [[Bekan Keep]]. By the time of the [[Battle of Requiem]], Dural had become a leading member of the Servants of the Abiding Truth under the name Pale Blade.{{Ref/Reuse|Mythos}} Several months later, on January 21, [[2558]], the Abiding Truth were dealt a crushing blow when Avu Med 'Telcam and two of his ranking commanders were [[Assassination of Avu Med 'Telcam|assassinated]] in the Servant's headquarters on [[New Llanelli]]. ==Personality and traits==
Dural fanatically believes in the Servants of the Abiding Truth. With a fierce temper even in his youth, he lead the Servants with fear and cut down those who questioned him too often. He despises humans and the Swords of Sanghelios for the death of his mother and has no qualms killing children to get his way. Despite his scorn for the Swords of Sanghelios, he is still reluctant to kill female Sangheili, even if they are his foes, as Raia 'Mdama taught him to be chivalrous to females when she was alive. He is also impatient according to Asum.{{Ref/Novel|Id=LoO|LoO}} Though he doesn't openly admit it, he still cared enough about Asum to warn him about his near-suicidal gambit to survive the beasts of Onyx.

==Equipment==
For himself, and at the urging of Telcam, Dural had painted his armor in a pale blue and white, similar to the color of a energy sword. His combat harness was a fierce and ancient variant from an anchorite-warrior sect that he recovered from the vaults of the Ontom temple.
