Numbers

Anyone know what the set of numbers at the start of the terminals are? I was thinking the date the cinematic takes place. Too many sets of numbers though. File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. Snipes450File:Colonel Grade One.png 20:31, 15 November 2011 (EST)

They are for something on Waypoint. ArchedThunder 20:08, 16 November 2011 (EST)

There is another terminal, an 11th terminal. On the console waypoint, on the navigation menu, press X then you'll be prompted a code menu. Input the symbols at the end of the terminals. When you have prompted all of the symbols, the 11th terminal should appear. Erickyboo 23:06, 16 November 2011 (EST)

Someone please test this! Exciting news if it is true. pestilence Phil, pestilence! 00:11, 17 November 2011 (EST)

Those are for the five-character codes at each terminal's end. He was asking about the numbers at each terminal's beginning. -Kronos101 22:43, 19 November 2011 (EST)

They don't seem to be linear, and there isn't an approximately 100,000 year difference between terminal 2 and Terminals 1; 3 and 10.-- Forerunner 13:29, 29 November 2011 (EST)
At first I thought they were a date or something, but then I realized the same thing Forerunner, some of these take place weeks or at the most a month or so apart. File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. Snipes450File:Colonel Grade One.png 14:24, 29 November 2011 (EST)

Difficulty, Co-Op

Has anybody confirmed if the Terminals can be viewed on Easy difficulty, or on co-op?--CaptainRaspberry 14:27, 18 November 2011 (EST)

I've done it on co-op, but I can't confirm Easy difficulty --Am I a Lion, or a Lamb? Or a Boy? Saint or Sinner? The Lost Books 19:40, 18 November 2011 (EST)
I've just confirmed them on Easy.--CaptainRaspberry 23:45, 18 November 2011 (EST)

Ascendant Justice?

At 0:28 in on Terminal 11, you can see the outline of a CSO-class supercarrier on the right side of the screen just below the Installation's wreckage and just above the Chief's Longsword when Spark scans the wreckage and first notices the Threshold gas mine. Is this the Ascendant Justice?--MoB 5150 21:10, 19 November 2011 (EST)

Wow, good eye! That's most likely the Ascendant Justice, yes. -Kronos101 22:56, 19 November 2011 (EST)

Terminal 12: ???

This is a 12th terminal discovered recently, using the forerunner glyphs you have to spell 'wakeupjohn' into the archive.

I call bullshit. Tried it. Twice. Didn't work.--Emblem 1.jpg Rusty - 112 18:19, 22 November 2011 (EST)

A poster on HBO said that the code apparently only works on the Xbox, and that it leads to a 5-second "signal lost" clip. I'm still skeptical; could anyone check this? -Kronos101 18:26, 22 November 2011 (EST)

Tried it on the Xbox a 3rd and 4th time. Didn't work... again. I think we can safely put this one to bed. It's not real. Parasite, your name is appropriate.--Emblem 1.jpg Rusty - 112 18:35, 22 November 2011 (EST)

I'm getting reports saying they 'locked' the terminal. What does that mean? Also: http://the99thdoctor.deviantart.com/art/12th-Terminal-Proof-270454675 ArchedParasite 23:30, 22 November 2011 (EST)

If they locked it then that means you don't have access, or it's not real, like stated before.--Commander 光环的家伙1234 Talk (Contribs) (Edits) 01:31, 23 November 2011 (EST)

Proper NeoGAF link: [1] Best egg still hasn't been found yet... Not terminals, very different? Damn. -Kronos101 19:40, 1 December 2011 (EST)

So, now what...?

I've watched all terminals and input all codes, before most people even figured it out, I might add. But, now what? What have we learned really? I know that it explains a lot of backstory into Halo CE/Anniversary and a bit about Halo 2, but what about Halo 4? What have we learned about Halo 4? These terminals were said to explain a little about it, but there doesn't appear to be much significant connection between the terminals and Halo 4.

I did notice one thing though, and that is that if the Prometheans should return, that the UNSC would almost prefer the Flood. It's not too significant, but it was something that jumped out at me, whatever 343GS meant by it. TheGutsyChipmunk 02:04, 29 November 2011 (EST)

Keep in mind there are still two novels about Bornstellar/The Didact to be released, both most likely before H4, and if you read The Didact's talk page, it's pretty clear that some Forerunners including him survived. Almost fore sure. He will most likely be the main enemy of the humans in the new trilogy. I wrote a better summary somewhere else, but I'm not gonna dig it up. Alex T Snow 02:10, 29 November 2011 (EST)
I know that, but what why would the Forerunners attack the humans? It just doesn't add up in my eyes... -- TheGutsyChipmunk 02:18, 29 November 2011 (EST)
I assume you know about this? And we (kind of) brought the Flood back, and destroyed a lot of their stuff (Two Halos and The Ark), and The Mantle. I'd imagine they have about the same attitude Spark did in Terminal 10. Alex T Snow 03:17, 29 November 2011 (EST)
I can understand where you are coming from, but the UNSC didn't really have much of a choice though. In both instances, they did it to eradicate the Flood. Also, 343GS was restricted by protocol, which he erratically chooses to follow and disobey. -- TheGutsyChipmunk 03:27, 29 November 2011 (EST)

Or they might be your allies, against that new foe. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 10:19, 29 November 2011 (EST)

If we would go to war with the Forerunners, or even the Precursors, we would get our ass kicked so hard. A single Forerunner Dreadnought (not even built for combat, mind you), was enough to devastate a Tier 2 civilization. So a fleets of Forerunner combat ships; versus 2 civilizations that just got out of a huge war, that are both practically destroyed. The Forerunners would kick ass. Vegerot goes RAWR! File:Icon-Vegito2.gif Vegerot (talk) 11:02, 29 November 2011 (EST)!

Tier 3, actually. The Sangheili weren't at Tier 2 yet, and the San'Shyuum had to use hit-and-run tactics, implying the Dreadnought could be or was damaged at times. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 11:47, 29 November 2011 (EST)

They might be a little mad that John destroyed 3 Installations (04,04B,00) but neutralizing 2 separate Flood threats I think would earn humanity a pass, I think Tuckerscreator is right with the whole "allies against a new foe". I mean they only went to war with primitive humans because they were invading their territory. File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. Snipes450File:Colonel Grade One.png 14:34, 29 November 2011 (EST)

I only meant they might the enemies as a result of some misunderstanding, like how they thought the previous humans were just invading them, but they were actually trying to escape the Flood. Them being allies would make sense too though. I could see it working either way. Alex T Snow 17:03, 29 November 2011 (EST)
My take on the Terminals was that, a.) there is an alien intelligence that knows about the Halo's, and that we didn't see them in Anniversary because they're going to appear in Halo 4; b.) it's setting the stage for more Didact/Librarian characterisation in the Greg Bear novels, and drumming up deserved interest for the Forerunner Saga; and c.) that it's insinuating that the Didact at least is still alive, and that he might not take too kindly to human vandalism. The Last Spartan meeting the Last Forerunner? Oh, to be a fly on the wall at that meeting. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 03:09, 2 December 2011 (EST)
The other thing we learned, that they showed over and over, is that Spark had zero knowledge of anything that took place outside the ring. So when he said stuff like all the Forerunners died in Halo 2, that was an assumption, but we all heard it as fact. Alex T Snow 05:58, 3 December 2011 (EST)

There were like, what? Three seperate terminals all about this mysterious ship that crashed on the Halo in a time period where Humans were still fighting eachother with stone tools. They had an additional 40,000 years to grow in power and technology since then. They seem like they'd be a powerful enemy, as well as "ancient". This does indeed support what few teases we've gotten of Halo 4.

"Set in the aftermath of Halo 3, Master Chief returns to confront his own destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe. Halo 4 marks the start of a new trilogy that begins with its release in 2012."
— Official summary

On a side note, I belive the "Didact's plan" Spark refers to in Terminal 8 will be seen in one of the new books. For all we know, The Didact tried his plan at the last second and Spark didn't know about it because he was on the Halo. It may even be a plot point in Halo 4, since the Forerunner fleet made its last stand in the area that the Chief is drifting, but I doubt it. Anyways, this is an indirect connection to Halo 4 in that way because the books themselves have connections. pestilence Phil, pestilence! 10:40, 3 December 2011 (EST)

"Forerunner fleet made its last stand in the area that the Chief is drifting" What? Also, the Didact's plan is the plan for the Shield Worlds. Vegerot goes RAWR! File:Icon-Vegito2.gif Vegerot (talk) 17:15, 4 December 2011 (EST)!

Proposal (Closed)

As per Talk:Terminal/Halo 3#Proposal. This page is also a bit long to navigate easily. I suggest we do the data drop format for these terminals as well.

If you pay attention in Red vs Blue, Vic, the annoying guy from Command, is posted at exactly where the first terminal is. Could this be a small homage to RvB? 180.156.116.36 11:39, 19 December 2011 (EST)
