Star roads were a form of Precursor technology.[1]

Overview

Star roads were capable of blocking or interfering with Slipspace travel. During the Forerunner-Flood war, multiple star roads were used to trap Forerunner forces that were soon overwhelmed by the Flood. Due to star roads using neural physics they were vulnerable to the effects of the Halo Array, when the Array was fired many star roads were destroyed.
