In 2552, Peterson was assigned to Pelican Echo 136 attatched to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. When that vessel crashed on Installation 04, Peterson and a few of his fellow pilots, including Captain "Foehammer" Rawley took their Pelicans and abandoned ship, effectively saving them from destruction.
