A COM pad is a small human portable computer, similar to a modern-day cellphone or PDA.[1] Though mainly intended for communication, it has many different uses. Often equipped with a touch screen, a COM pad usually includes calendar functions, can link into local networks or store files.[2] Each COM pad linked in the COM network has its own COM address.[3]
