- Jake Courage's photo exhibit Killing Time wins the John Pilger Prize.[3]
- The Assembly discusses the losses in the Human-Covenant War so far, as well as the possibility of re-terraforming glassed human worlds. To prevent human extinction, they also decide that they must be more open with their actions.[4]
- Thrust assemblies are replaced on the UNSC Spirit of Fire from the scuttled UNSC destroyer Calcutta.[5]
- SPARTAN-II Blue Team shuts down Insurrectionists' Station Jefferson in the Eridanus system.[6]
- Blue Team destroys, captures or otherwise eliminates the Insurrectionist destroyer Origami sometime prior to November.[6][note 1]
- Blue Team eliminates an Insurrectionist high-explosive manufacturing facility at an unspecified location sometime around November.[6]
- Blue Team disrupts Insurrectionist activity in Micronesia and breaks up a saboteur ring on Reach between November of this year and May 2531.[6]
- January 30th: Catherine-B320 is born in Monastir, New Harmony.[7]
- October 20th: Michael "Mickey" Crespo is born in Crisium City, Naniwa, on Luna.
- December 24th: The Battle of Groombridge-1830 takes place, resulting in a costly UNSC victory.
- December 25th: Subject 386 is interrogated by Fleet Admiral Preston Cole and First Lieutenant Richard Lionel Barclay. The interrogation is recorded by the AI Solipsil.[8]
