Hieu Dinh is a SPARTAN-IV supersoldier serving under Commander Laurette Agryna.[1]

Biography

Hieu Dinh started his career as a field officer for Section Three of the Office of Naval Intelligence, wherein he served in the Human-Covenant War tasked with capturing and re-purposing Covenant technology.[2] Early in his career, Dinh and his fireteam were tasked with breaching and raiding a fledgling Yanme'e hive inside a derelect Forerunner structure. The raid was ultimately a disaster, with Dinh left severely wounded and the rest of his team perished.[3]

Dinh was ultimately left scarred by this experience, though his close call with death left him resilient in similarly-perilous scenarios. As such, he was later recruited into the SPARTAN-IV program.[3] During the Created conflict, Dinh fought against the Banished in several close-quarters engagements including boarding actions. Dinh was later deployed alongside Spartan Sigrid Eklund to a Banished shipbreaking yard on Camber during the Created conflict.[2]

Equipment

Dinh employs a custom ensemble of equipment, shaped by his experiences against the Banished and surviving for long periods alone in the field in the wake of the rise of the Created. He wears an Artaius helmet taken from a small run of prototypes intended for a new classification of powered exoskeleton.[2]
