Two cannons are mounted on the front of the Hierarch's gravity throne. It is similar to the assault cannon wielded by the Mgalekgolo, in that it fires a continuous beam that can blast away intervening obstructions and can be fatal even to a fully shielded Spartan. Template:Weapon The gravity cannon[citation needed] is a powerful energy weapon integrated into the gravity thrones of the Covenant's Hierarchs.[1][2]

Two cannons are mounted on the front of the Hierarch's gravity throne. It is similar to the assault cannon wielded by the Mgalekgolo, in that it fires a continuous beam that can blast away intervening obstructions and can be fatal even to a fully shielded Spartan. The weapon is also similar in function to the armament of Forerunner Sentinels, perhaps suggesting that the Covenant reverse-engineered the weapon from this technology.
