After the creation of halowiki.net, the site was renamed to "Halopedia" and moved its domain to www.halopedia.org.[notes 1] Since the renaming, the wiki has actively document the developments of the Halo franchise and the fictional universe, along with gameplay information and help.[1]
In 2006, the original host was unable to financially support the wiki, prompting Halopedia to migrate to Wikia.[2] From 2007 to 2010, Halopedia was one of Wikia's most active and popular wikis following the release of Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach.
