Chalybs Defense Solutions (CDS) is a human defense technology company.

History

CDS had numerous facilities located on Meridian, including one in the city of Angoulême.[1] The company developed and manufactured the M808 Scorpion[2] and the M850 Grizzly.[3] They were contracted by the Office of Naval Intelligence to manufacture the M145D "Rhino" artillery vehicle, which was based on the ONI-developed Zeus 320mm plasma cannon,[4] and to manufacture the Operator armor for the Beta-5 Division's Asymmetrical Action Group.[5] Chalybs also developed the standard-issue pilot helmet for the UNSC Air Force.[6] Both armor systems were tested at the Chalybs Testing Preserve.[5][6]

Sometime after the Fall of Reach, the CDS abandoned all their facilities on Meridian.[7]

Following the Human-Covenant War, Acheron Security took control of manufacturing the M808 Scorpion,[8] while the Naphtali Contractor Corporation took over production of the Operator armor.[7]

In 2556, a CDS facility located in Sedra City was under "active investigation" by ONI after the February 7 terrorist attack.[9]
