Destroyers with a length of 1,500 meters (4,900 ft) were seen in various battles early in the Human-Covenant War,[3][4] while a destroyer with a length of approximately 647 meters (2,120 ft) was present during the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV in July 2552.[2]

The destroyer is very well armed, boasting multiple point-defense pulse laser turrets, plasma turrets, a single energy projector, and a full complement of Seraph fighters. The destroyer's weapons are so potent that UNSC Navy Captain Jacob Keyes remarked that they turn UNSC ships into "Swiss cheese".[5]
