Template:Ratings Template:Ship The M12A1 Light Anti-Armor Vehicle[1], abbreviated as M12A1 LAAV and commonly referred to as the Rocket Warthog, is a UNSC ground vehicle.

Description

The M12A1 Warthog is exactly the same as the standard M12 Warthog LRV, except for a few differences:

  1. It has yellow paint stripes lined through the base, to distinguish it from the standard M12 Warthog. It is also painted black, different from the normal color of a normal Warthog, which is a metallic olive. The seats are also yellow.
  2. It is armed with a 102mm SC-HE Rocket Turret[1] on the back seat. The turret can shoot three surface-to-surface rockets before reloading, but like all projectile weapons, it must be reloaded when the magazine capacity is depleted. The reloading time takes about four seconds, similar to the reload time of a Scorpion in Halo: Combat Evolved.
  3. The tires are a darker color than those of the standard Warthog.

Appearances

In the E3 2000 Halo: Combat Evolved trailer, the featured Warthog sported a cannon that fired missiles like the M12A1 cannon, but looked like Halo 2's M12G1 LAAV Warthog gauss cannon.

The M12A1 LAAV makes its first gameplay appearance in Halo PC's multiplayer maps. Technical details of the vehicle were later expanded in Halo Encyclopedia.
