The Surface-to-Air Missile Launcher[1], abbreviated as the SAM Site and colloquially known as the "Big Ass Mortar Gun"[2] or the "B.A.M.G.", is a ground-based missile emplacement in use by the United Nations Space Command.
Introduction
The Surface-to-Air Missile Launcher is a large three-barreled mortar emplacement. It is featured in the Halo 3 Halo 3 multiplayer level High Ground, and as of the Halo 3 Beta, has not been seen in action. However, it has been hinted to be able to fire mortar shells at ground targets. This contradicts its official name, which notes that it fires missiles at aerial targets.
