Imperial Admiral is the highest non-elected rank a Covenant Sangheili (Elite) can obtain. There is small speculation that it is equal in rank to the Supreme Commander rank, though proof one way or another has never been put forward.

An Imperial Admiral operates on a very high-ranking Covenant Flagship in the Covenant Navy such as an Assault Carrier, Supercarrier or other very powerful capital ships within the Covenant Fleet. They are of a much higher rank than a Zealot, as Xytan 'Jar Wattinree promoted Voro Nar 'Mantakree to the position of Fleet Master.
