Template:FOF-1 Template:Rank Infobox Lieutenant Commander is a junior commissioned officer rank of the UNSC Navy, equal to the rank of Major in the UNSC Marine Corps.
A Lieutenant Commander is a senior department officer on a large ship or installation. They may also be Commanding Officer (CO) or Executive Officer (XO) (second-in-command) of a smaller ship or installation.
Lieutenant Commander is the highest rank featured being held by Spartan-IIs (washouts or otherwise), so far.
