Naturally any legendary hero through an average warriors eyes is given to be of godly stature, generally through the physical trait of height, a particular example of such would be that of Odysseus of the ''Odyssey''—note how in which the story emphasizes his heroic traits, some of which are being very tall. The book itself stated the admiral's well being to be no less than a god. It's apparent that in order to demonstrate Xytan's heroism throughout the Covenant they emphasized heroic traits. To do this, they emphasize height and, to perform such, Eric Nylund hinted they might have used raised platform boots or possibly another hologram.
He was legendary and extremely illustrious amongst the soldiers of the [[Covenant]]. He had never been defeated in battle, he had never failed at any task, no matter what the challenge, and he was never wrong. His only flaw was that he had been so revered, some respected him above any [[Prophet]] and for that he had been exiled to lead a fleet only at the fringes and outskirts of the vast Covenant Empire.
 
Commanding his fleet he played a considerably large role in the [[Civil War of the Covenant]]. 'Jar Wattinree was one of the first Elite leaders to take command of the confused Elites and rally them at [[Joyous Exultation]]. There, they moved in to ambush the [[Brutes]] and destroy them, putting an end to the [[Covenant Civil War|Civil War]] before they could destroy the [[Flood]]. The [[Imperial Admiral]] had no illusions about the true nature of the [[Halo Rings]] or the Flood. It's unknown whether or not Xytan kept the 'ee' suffix at the end of his name after rebelling against the Prophets.
 
Unfortunately, his [[flagship]], ''[[Sublime Transcendence]]'', was destroyed by a [[NOVA]] bomb they had taken from [[Reach]] and activated by a curious and unsuspecting [[Grunt]] named [[Kwassass]] after the Covenant Engineers ([[Huragok]]) reconnected the detonator to the NOVA bomb. Whether or not he was aboard the ship at that time is unknown. It is assumed that Wattinree was killed, as the Sangheili Separatist Fleet in Halo 3 were led by Rtas 'Vadum, a Fleet Master (who was lower in rank to an Imperial Admiral).

Such silver-and-gold Elite armor has yet to be seen or mentioned elsewhere, and may be superior in quality to the gold armor of a [[Zealot]] or even a Councilor. Silver metals are possibly rare among the Covenant, so armor with such appearance is probably highly valuable and is of the highest prestige.

Xytan 'Jar Wattinree was a Sangheili naval officer in the forces of the Covenant empire. As one of the empire's most capable and prestigious officers, Wattinree rose to the rank of Imperial Admiral - and was ultimately relegated by the Hierarchs to command the Combined Fleet of Righteous Purpose in exile at the borders of Covenant space. He led the Sangheili forces during the early stages of the Great Schism.[4]

Xytan 'Jar Wattinree hailed from the Sangheili homeworld of Sanghelios, born on April 20, 2488. He was considered to possess an innate talent for navigating the cutthroat political machine of the Covenant's bureaucracy alongside a keen insight into the psychology of the various client races that formed the backbone of the empire's caste system. As such, he was able to use these talents alongside his status as a foremost commander and tactician to ascend the Covenant military hierarchy to the title of Imperial Admiral - the highest office in the Covenant military.[1] His posting saw him assigned to lead the Combined Fleet of Righteous Purpose - a massive armada of two hundred vessels charged as the vanguard for the occupied regions on the fringes of Covenant space.[5]

Imperial Admiral Xytan 'Jar Wattinree is available as a Fleet Commander in the Halo: Fleet Battles tabletop wargame. His portrait artwork for the game was done by David Heidhoff, and his gameplay style was designed around representing a "dagger-like tactical genius". His command style was designed with unique orders that can allow him to seize initiative at key junctures in-game, and throw enemy plans into disarray.[7]

Standard Orders Special Orders
Focused Attack
Cost: 1 Order Attack die
An element may re-roll up to two Halo attack dice. These dice may only be re-rolled once. This order is issued after any initial dice are rolled during either the attack segment or the boarding resolution phase.
Perfect Time To Strike
Cost: 3 Order Defense die
The Covenant Fleet automatically gain the initiative this turn. This order may be issued during the execute orders step of the orders dice phase.
Power To The Defenses
Cost: 1 Order Defense die
An element may re-roll a single initial defense array die rolled by an element. This die may only be re-rolled once. This order may be issued after any initial defense dice pool roll.
Superiority
Cost: 3 Order Attack die
Increase the security detail rating of all zealots in a fleet by +2 for the remainder of the turn. This order must be issued during the execute orders step of the boarding resolution phase.
Form Up!
Cost: 1 Order Command die
The Fleet Commander may order the re-building of a battle group up to a maximum build rating of 6. This order must be issued during the execute orders step of the order dice phase.
Unique Ability
A gifted military opportunist, Xytan 'Jar Wattinree is capable of taking advantage of the slightest flaw in an opponent's plan. During the execute orders step of the orders phase he can force the opponent to re-roll a single order dice each turn, but the second result must be accepted.
